Oxymoron

The boys invented a new game tonight: High School Musical laser tag. Basically, they run around the house shooting each other while dressed in their new East High gear (courtesy of Grandma). Every so often Charlie will sing a bar of HSM, "Soaring, flying, there's nothing to reach." (his version of 'breaking free")

It's nice to know that deep down Elliot is still a 6 year old boy. All the Troy talk, bangs, singing and dancing had us convinced he was becoming a 10 year old girl.

Hilarious! Every once in a while we have to look at each other and wonder if Max is gender-confused; I probably go with it more than I should! Did Elliot cut his own bangs? Did he request bangs? I don't understand the bangs allusion...

He requested we not cut his bangs so he can look like Troy . . . long bangs swept over to the side. We'll see how long we actually let them get. I'm already wanting to cut his hair!

That is pretty disturbing to see those boys in East High gear. Yes, I know all about the musical, but Pills must not be too pleased by it all. The kids look great though...little boys and their imagination is awesome.

I often laugh about how Elliot is so great at straddling the traditional gender lines. He loves to play basketball, but he also loves to change his outfits and sing songs from musicals while doing so.

My favorite Elliot line goes like this:
Me: Elliot-o are you gonna be a football player?
Elliot: No I'm gonna do hip-hop.

Hilarious! Plus if HSM taught us anything isn't it that we can be more than one thing? Just be who we are...Come on now.

Two more questions.

1) Who taught Elliot how to flash gang signs?

2) Why is he wearing what appear to be janitor keys?

wow that is classic.

We asked him about the pose. He said it was on the box his gun came in. As for the janitor keys, that what you get when your husband is a teacher/coach/athletic director . . . lots of keys!

I can't believe how big your boys are now! We really need to schedule that dinner with Amanda so we can all catch up. How's Monday the 26 or Tuesday the 27 of November?
